When Grayson Fox is asked to return home to Deep Haven and run the wrangler activities for the local camp, the last thing he expects is to run into the one woman he never wanted to see again. Worse…she’s his boss. But Grayson has big hopes for a life back in Oregon, and he must keep the promise to the camp in order to keep his dreams alive.
Just because Beth Strauss has stuck around Deep Haven doesn’t mean she doesn’t want a bigger life. And becoming the camp assistant director is the first step to that bigger life. Of course, standing in her way happens to be the one man who has always managed to derail her dreams, way too arrogant Grayson Fox.
But if they want to keep the camp afloat and their dreams alive, these two must learn to work together. But will these enemies become sweethearts, and if they do, will they find something better than the dreams they’re striving for?
The next delightful installment of the Fox Family series!
IT'S YOUR LOVE is a story about a man who faces some of his greatest regrets coming back home for the summer, and a girl who is trying to figure out how to have her own life while still fulfilling a promise. Set in a small town that fans have grown to love, with likable characters, a sweet romance and inspirational elements woven throughout.
I really liked these characters, the premise for the story and being able to come back and visit Deep Haven. It's a summer visit revolving around a summer camp, its horses and the two main employees running things. There is an old crush between these two and that underlying attraction is still there. It was fun seeing them work through their own challenges as characters and with those around them as they face some choices. The romance is sweet and slowly builds, and friends and family who poke their hands into things in this small town add to the charm.
I think there were a few flaws for me personally in this story. I was rubbed wrong by the heroine's comments towards the hero and how that bled into their work environment from almost the start of the story. It felt pretty juvenile to hold onto something that wasn't actually what she thought from high school and hold it over someone's head. The other thing was that I felt like the wit, humor, and chemistry were lacking in this story so it felt fairly flat to me.
In the end, was it what I wished for? An overall cute story about letting go while also reaching for dreams. Likable characters and small-town life set amidst a summer camp created a charming feel to this book.
