My Review
FOOLING AROUND WITH CINDERELLA had me cracking up, swooning, and wanting to throw a few punches (not literally) throughout the story. I adored the characters and the entire situation. There was charm, chemistry, family, friends, humor, and even a villain. If you enjoy chick-lit, this is the perfect story for you!
Jaine who gets to play Cinderella, nicknamed "Cindy" during her stint as such, was strong and creative, but also had some insecurities. I loved the opening scene were she toes off with Dylan. I also loved seeing her transform and gather a back bone. She was a fabulous character. Dylan was also great. Charming, a little impulsive and flirtatious, also insecure in some ways while he tries to make up for his past, attractive and smart. Both characters had their flaws, but evolved a little through the story and fit so fabulously together. I also loved a lot of the other characters and sweet moments they had, especially Dylan's grandfather. There were some characters that threw some tension into the story as well and even though I didn't necessarily like them, they played their roles well.
I wasn't sure about the cover, but the synopsis sounded intriguing enough and so I gave it a chance. I'm really glad that I did! I loved the pacing of the story. I loved the way the author let the characters fumble, but also shine. I loved the sweet moments, the laugh-out-loud moments, the tense moments. I loved the theme park and the way fairy tales were interwoven in the story. It was such an enjoyable and entertaining read that felt light, but also had some depth. I'm looking forward to finding out who the heroine and hero is of the next story and how they'll get their happily-ever-after!
