Friday Favorites is a weekly meme hosted here, that spotlights a favorite author, book, series, publisher, cover, blog, etc. Basically whatever bookish thing that you love, recommend, and want to tell others about. Just pick one and link up to my post each Friday to share. You can use the graphic I used above, the other one here, or your own.
I have loved all of Kasie West's books to date and was so excited to get my hands on an early copy of her newest, On the Fence. It came out this past Tuesday and so I thought this would be a great choice for Friday Favorites because I loved it! Here's the book info and my review...

Summary
She's a tomboy. He's the boy next door…
Charlie Reynolds can outrun, outscore, and outwit every boy she knows. But when it comes to being a girl, Charlie doesn't know the first thing about anything. So when she starts working at a chichi boutique to pay off a speeding ticket, she finds herself in a strange new world. To cope with the stress of her new reality, Charlie takes to spending nights chatting with her neighbor Braden through the fence between their yards. As she grows to depend on their nightly Fence Chats, she realizes she's got a bigger problem than speeding tickets-she's falling for Braden. She knows what it means to go for the win, but if spilling her secret means losing him for good, the stakes just got too high.
Fun, original, and endearing, On the Fence is a romantic comedy about finding yourself and finding love where you least expect.

My Review
On the Fence was the perfect blend of family, friendship, sweet romance, and humor. I especially loved how Charlie was searching for who she was and wanted to be. I fell in love with these characters and not just the main ones, but all of them.
I loved, loved, loved Charlie's brothers! They were so fun, as was Charlie with them. I loved the camaraderie, the joking, the pranks. I loved Charlie! She was a tomboy, but she was so much more than that. She questioned herself as she was faced with new experiences and found new friends. I was so proud of how she worked things out as the story progressed. I liked how Braden challenged her while also supporting her, and loved her for who she was. He was such a good friend before anything else. I loved him! There was some great chemistry between Charlie and him. I loved Charlie's boss, friends, and dad (there were some parts referring to his "lady co-worker" that helped him out with girl stuff with Charlie and it was hilarious while also being touching).
I was engaged and invested in the story from beginning to end. Charlie's voice was great and sarcastic and so authentic. Then we're thrown right into the craziness of her family and being the baby of all those brothers. This was a light, sweet romance, but the story also carried some depth as Charlie found some things out about herself and her family. I really felt for her and the situation. I loved the late-night conversations between her and Braden. I loved how the story progressed.
If you enjoy contemporary romance, then I would definitely recommend On the Fence. It was heartfelt, sweet and sassy, with endearing and fully fleshed characters. It's definitely a story I'll be re-reading in the future.
