Summary
Dragons have declared war on humanity
After a humiliating defeat at the hands of Kendra and Seth, Celebrant, King of Dragons, prepares to unleash his fury and take control of his native preserve. Two of the seven dragon sanctuaries have already fallen. Will Wyrmroost be next?
Armed with secret information from a new ally, Celebrant seeks a talisman that will guarantee victory in the war against the humans. With a cursed castle and traitorous creatures standing in the way, Kendra and Seth must attempt to foil Celebrant’s plan and beat him to his prize.
Will the two young caretakers rally enough support from the creatures of Wyrmroost to quell the uprising and protect the world from draconic dominion? One thing is certain—dragons are deadly foes, and one wrong move could bring swift defeat. It will take more than Kendra, Seth, and their current allies have ever given to endure the wrath of the Dragon King.
My Review
WRATH OF THE DRAGONS is another release from this author that Fablehaven fans will love. The story is full of dragons and other magical creatures, adventurous quests full of danger, and favorite characters along with a few new ones. If you're a fan of the original series or this new one, this is one story not to miss!
I'll be honest... the beginning of this story was fairly slow. Even my son, who is a huge Fablehaven fan, didn't get too far into it before he picked up another book. However, it's worth reading on as by a fourth of the way through the story intensifies quite a bit and is difficult to put down until the very end. I easily ate up the pages as these characters face insurmountable odds and a dangerous quest against dragons and others full of tricks who would like to see the world crumble. There were a few things I felt were too easy for some and others that were a little annoying, but overall I enjoyed seeing what happened and how it all played out. It felt slightly better than the first book and I'm hoping each subsequent book will just get better. There is quite a bit unresolved at the end of this one. I'm looking forward to seeing what happens in the next book and the two after, as this is supposed to be a five-book series.
In the end, was it what I wished for? For those who are fans of the Fablehaven world and the first book in this series, this is a must read. It's definitely worth sticking through the slow start to get to the climatic ending.

Summary
In the long-awaited sequel to Fablehaven, the dragons who have been kept at the dragon sanctuaries no longer consider them safe havens, but prisons and they want their freedom. The dragons are no longer our allies....
In the hidden dragon sanctuary of Wyrmroost, Celebrant the Just, King of the Dragons, plots his revenge. He has long seen the sanctuaries as prisons, and he wants nothing more than to overthrow his captors and return the world to the Age of Dragons, when he and his kind ruled and reigned without borders. The time has come to break free and reclaim his power.
No one person is capable of stopping Celebrant and his dragon horde. It will take the ancient order of Dragonwatch to gather again if there is any chance of saving the world from destruction. In ancient times, Dragonwatch was a group of wizards, enchantresses, dragon slayers, and others who originally confined the majority of dragons into sanctuaries. But nearly all of the original Dragonwatch members are gone, and so the wizard Agad reaches out to Grandpa Sorenson for help.
As Kendra and Seth confront this new danger, they must draw upon all their skills, talents, and knowledge as only they have the ability to function together as a powerful dragon tamer. Together they must battle against forces with superior supernatural powers and breathtaking magical abilities.
How will the epic dragon showdown end? Will dragons overthrow humans and change the world as we know it?
