Summary
The One Rule Is, Don’t Mess With The Past
But he did, and now ex-detective Rembrandt Stone is reaping the devastation of ignoring those words when he traveled back in time to solve the one case that had haunted his dreams.
Yes, he solved the crime. Yes, he saved lives. But Rembrandt returns to find the unthinkable has happened and his life has shattered.
There’s only one answer: break the rule again. Go back in time once more, fix what went wrong, save what went right, and yeah, in his spare time solve another brutal crime.
But it’s not so easy to change time, especially when time turns you into a target. And of course there’s the strong possibility if he goes again, he’ll never get back.
Get ready for your mind to be blown in Book 2 of the time-travel suspense series, The True Lies of Rembrandt Stone.
My Review
NO UNTURNED STONE is another roller-coaster ride of what-ifs as Rembrandt Stone tries to solve another cold case in his past while also attempting to fix his present. Fans of true crime with sci-fi twists will enjoy this second installment in the series.
I seriously love this series! It seems to be growing on me more as it goes. I really enjoyed the first book and have been waiting impatiently for book two after the bit of a cliffhanger at the end. In this book, Rembrandt Stone travels back in time again to solve a cold case, but more importantly to fix his life where everything got royally messed up. There are plenty of twists and turns. Readers will find more clues as to what is going on as Rembrandt figures some things out. Another page-turner that I couldn't put down.
What works so well with these books is how easy it is to connect with Rembrandt and his personality. He's this mix of charm, glib, honesty (I know that's a bit of a contradiction) and frankness all mixed together and intensified as a cop who is seeking answers. His love for his wife and for some of his co-workers is very evident. He's a passionate man, and that definitely comes across in this story and makes the reader feel all the emotions he's feeling. It makes for an intense, emotional read. Of course I still have questions and there are still more cold cases for him to solve. I'm just hoping everything will work out in the end.
In the end, was it what I wished for? This book and series is just full of all the feels. It's intense, with an intriguing plot and great characters. Definitely recommended!
Content: Some violence, but clean.
